Website maintenance services
A website needs regular care after launch: updates, backups, security checks and small fixes. Our website maintenance services keep WordPress and WooCommerce websites online, secure and fast.
- Backup taken first
- WordPress, theme and plugins updated by hand
- Forms, links and checkout tested
- Security scan
- Speed and error check
If an update breaks something, we roll it back.
What our website maintenance services include
Website maintenance services are the regular work that keeps a site healthy after launch. That includes updates, backups, security checks and functional tests. In addition, somebody has to react when something breaks. Therefore, one team takes responsibility for the whole site, so you always know who to call.
Updates
We update WordPress, themes and plugins by hand and check the site afterwards.
Backups
We take a backup before every round of updates, as the WordPress documentation recommends, so we can restore the site if something goes wrong.
Security
A firewall, regular security scans and monitoring of the SSL certificate.
Performance checks
Speed and error monitoring, so we find problems before visitors notice them.
Functional tests
We test forms, links and checkout after every round of updates.
Content changes
On request, in the scope agreed for your plan.
Recovery
If the site goes down, we restore it from a backup and then find the cause.
Hosting, if you want it
Managed hosting on its own, or together with support and monthly optimization.
How a maintenance plan starts
Review
First, we review the theme, the plugins and the hosting and list any risks we find.
Setup
Then we set up backups, the firewall and monitoring, so the site has a safety net.
Regular care
After that, we update and test the site in regular rounds and fix what comes up.
Why updates are done by hand
Automatic updates are generic, and a generic update can break a feature that worked the day before. Therefore, we update manually, check the site after each change and roll back if something fails.
Is a maintenance plan right for you?
- No developer in the teamBusinesses that want one team responsible for the site.
- Online storesAn hour of downtime means lost orders.
- Sites left without updatesThey need a safe way back to current versions.
Frequently asked questions
Do you maintain websites you did not build?
Yes. First, we review the theme, the plugins and the hosting, because we need to know what we take responsibility for. Then we tell you about any risks we find, such as abandoned plugins. After that, regular maintenance starts in the same way as for sites we built.
What happens if my site goes down?
We restore the site from the latest backup and then look for the cause, so it does not happen again. Afterwards, we report what happened and what we changed. If you want to understand the steps, read how to recover a WordPress site after a crash.
What happens if an update breaks something?
We roll the update back, so the site works as before. Then we find out why it failed. Usually the cause is a conflict between two plugins or between a plugin and the theme. After that, we apply the update again once a fix is available.
Is hosting included?
Hosting is optional. In the Website Price Estimator you can choose managed hosting on its own, or hosting together with support and monthly optimization. However, if you are happy with your current hosting, we maintain the site there.
How much does maintenance cost?
It depends on the size of the site and on whether you also want hosting. The Website Price Estimator gives a rough estimate for a new site with hosting and support. For an existing site, contact us, and we will send a quote after the first review.
Can maintenance also make my site faster?
Regular maintenance keeps a site from slowing down, because we check speed after every round of updates. However, a site that is already slow needs more than that. In that case, we recommend a one-time speed optimization first.
